What is Workflow? Workflow is defined as ‘the automation of a business process, in whole or part, during which documents, information or tasks are passed from one participant to another for action, according to a set of procedural rules’.
Why Should a Business Use Workflow? By increasing the productivity of your employees you can focus on other areas of your business with the goal of increasing profitability.
In an organisation, inefficiency in processes most often is not in the execution by the employee, but rather in the time between steps in the sequence or workflow.
Those minutes and hours create lags in business processes. By placing a workflow process in a virtual environment, the time between processes can be significantly reduced from days to minutes. By automating workflows, it will bring the following benefits to your company:
The Key Benefits of Workflow
- Improved efficiency: automation of many business processes results in the elimination of many unnecessary steps
- Better process control: improved management of business processes achieved through standardising working methods and the availability of audit trails
- Improved customer service: consistency in the processes leads to greater predictability in levels of response to customers
- Flexibility: software control over processes enables their re-design in line with changing business needs
- Business process improvement: focus on business processes leads to their streamlining and simplification
The Evolve Platform©'s innovative Workflow feature allows you to automate your processes to ensure each activity in the life of a case is completed, audited and tracked. This helps ensure an efficient, productive working environment while providing the highest levels of standards and compliance.
Each document activity can be assigned within the scope of the Workflow, as well as any appointments, tasks and call logs. The multi branching ensures that multiple tasks can occur concurrently, while the definition of user roles ensures the correct people are attending
The Workflow editor in the Evolve Platform© provides an easy to use tool in the generation of your defined processes. For each stage in a workflow tasks are assigned to specific users in the office advising them what needs to be completed so the workflow can progress to the next stage. As the Workflow progresses an Audit log is kept of every stage that has been completed. At any point in this case file you can see what stage the workflow is at and what is the next task to be completed.
Once a workflow comes to an end it can be signed off by the Fee Earner or the Administrator Assigned.
In simple terms workflow is graphical view of a case or project type and all the stages, individuals and documents required to complete the case. Our Evolve Platform© will let you easily develop, edit and integrate workflow into your business with immediate effect. |
